Qahwah House – Multiple Locations

No offense to Qahwah House, but there’s something innately Starbucks-like about it. Maybe it’s the billboards proclaiming Yemen as the home of coffee, the omnipresent branding on uniforms and cups, or the abundance of laptops. In another world, this slightly more nationalistic chain could have become what Starbucks is today.

The personal touch can feel lacking, with service sometimes limited to a handful of scripted lines. Efficiency, however, is clearly the priority—and in that regard, they excel.

Execution is where Qahwah House shines. The warming spices are bold, and the breadth of the menu remains impressive across visits. The pastries sit just outside the typical American palate, making them especially enticing.

Best Bite: Adeni Chai paired with Khaliat Alnahl.
